Livery

The Servaes family have lived at Carlton House for very nearly three decades and have always kept their own horses for hunting, showing, eventing and more recently for polo. This is a family yard with a friendly atmosphere. The yard is part of Carlton House Farm, a working arable farm, and, though the yard is physically separate from the working of the farm, livery owners have the benefit of being able to ride on the farm land. At present we have vacancies for full, part and holiday livery. Part livery will include some of the benefits of full livery listed below.

Livery Benefits
Security and Peace of mind
The Servaes family live on site providing 24 hour supervision and care for your horse or pony. The property is fully fenced. Tack rooms are locked when not in use.

Vets, farriers, dentist, worming, etc
We are happy to organise routine veterinary, farriery and dentistry visits and co-ordinate a worming programme for your horse.

Stabling and tack room
Our horse accommodation consists of an American barn with 11 Monarch 12 ft x 12ft rubber matted stables equipped with automatic drinkers and full height hay racks. Substantial storage, a drying room and a tack room with hot and cold running water are inside the main stable block and a wash down area, also with hot and cold running water, is located adjacent to the building. Paper bedding from experience is the preferred bedding option and the yard has its own high capacity shredder for recycling paper for this purpose. Other forms of bedding are available on request.

Turn out
There are over 20 acres of secure fenced paddocks for all year turn out. Paddocks in use are swept daily. Mains drinking water is supplied by automatically fed troughs. Paddock and grassland management is taken seriously. There is a further 12 acres of grassland on the farm from which our hay is made.

Grooming
Your horse on full livery will be groomed once a day.

Feeding
Full livery will include basic short feeds. All supplements should be provided by the owner.

Tack cleaning
On full livery your horses tack will be cleaned on a daily basis.

Hacking
1200 acres of private farmland with optional cross country fences and a selection of public bridleways and quiet country roads make this the ideal place for riding whether you are after a quiet country hack or a “full-on” endurance ride.

Arena, horse walker and lunge ring
All livery clients have use of the 100m x 50m all weather arena, Monarch 5 horse covered horse exerciser with rubber flooring and a purpose built 40ft lunge ring with Martin Collins Ecotrack surface.

Exercise
Your horse on full livery will be exercised to your requirements by experienced staff.

Rugging
Your horses rugs will be changed as required – whether your horse has been turned out, stabled or returned from a show our staff will rug him/her accordingly.
